Rukban Story

Since 2016, + 8,000 refugees living in the Rukban internally displaced persons (IDP) camp have endured abysmal conditions. As a result of a blockade imposed by the Assad regime, and re-enforced by their Russian and Iranian allies, the camp’s residents have been severely deprived of food, medicine, clean water, education, and much more.

In the summer of 2023 the Syrian Emergency Task Force made history, becoming the first humanitarian organization in four years to deliver aid directly to the residents of Rukban, effectively breaking the years-long siege on the camp.

Currently, the residents of Rukban are enduring a famine and nearly all routes for humanitarian aid and doctors are closed. Working with the non-profit, Syrian Emergency Task Force, we are able to send boxes of the most-needed items to Rukban. Join us in this campaign to provide support and items that can save lives.

Where is Rukban Camp

Al-Tanf is a U.S. military base in Syria’s Homs Governorate, established in 2016. It was initially used to train anti-ISIS fighters from Free Syrian Army. The base is surrounded by a 55 km “deconfliction zone”. Within the deconfliction zone lies the Rukban refugee camp, housing thousands of internally displaced Syrians.
