Why

Since 2011, a million Syrian have been killed, half of the population of Syria has been displaced from their homes, and around 5 million civilians have been trapped in an ever-shrinking space in Northwest across parts of Idlib and northern countryside of Aleppo continuing to be under bombardment to this day. Liberating cities enables these internally displaced civilians to return home, and gives hope for a safe future and democracy in Syria. Until Syria is liberated, all civilians face massacres, bombardment, detainment, and other war crimes like chemical weapons used against them with impunity.

  • According to residents, the opposition forces are providing services such as electricity regularly, which was lacking under the Assad regime rule.
  • The opposition forces are protecting civilians in the liberated areas including all Syrian  minorities such as Orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, Armenians, Kurds and Shia Muslims; reaffirming their commitment to protecting Syrians.
