Another academic year has come to a close for the Wisdom House Kindergarten. On June 8th, teachers and staff of the Wisdom House hosted a graduation ceremony for the 96 graduates of the class of 2022.
The Wisdom House was established in 2016 to provide education for children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. The school in northwest Syria is staffed with qualified teachers who create a safe environment and a sense of normalcy in the midst of a war zone.
The class of 2022 marks the sixth class of Wisdom House graduates. To celebrate, they had a fun-filled ceremony to acknowledge their achievements throughout the year. Teachers, parents, and friends around the world watched with excitement as each graduate received their certificate. The kids performed choreography and presented recitations to show off their skills in both Arabic and English. In the video recap below, students recite verses from the Holy Quran and sing the English alphabet. The boys dance to a baker’s song, mimicking a baker using their hats, while the girls showed off their talents by wearing butterfly wings, a gift from their teachers. The children were ecstatic as the teachers expressed their praise and admiration for a job well done.

The Wisdom House says “Thank You”
Teachers, students, and parents expressed their gratitude to the Wisdom House community, the SETF team, and donors who allow the Wisdom House doors to remain open. They made thank you cards to show their appreciation.
The ceremony stood not only as a celebration of educational achievements but as a symbol of resilience that each student and teacher exhibits throughout the year. Teaching 96 kindergartners is a difficult task for anyone, but the teachers at the Wisdom House deserve the utmost praise for doing so in an unpredictable environment with daily threats of bombardment from the regime.
As the Wisdom House community says goodbye to another successful year, our team is excited for the future and ready to welcome the class of 2023 in the fall.
